Australian Political System
Australia's system of government is based on the liberal democratic tradition, which includes it religious tolerance, and freedom of expression and association. Shape and implementation reflects British and American models of government but remains distinctive Australia. Before 1900, Australia was not an unity. It was consists of six colonies, New South Wales, Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria, Queensland, and Western Australia and now become the sixth state of Australia. The Commonwealth of Australia was founded on January 1, 1901, which is also known as Federation Day.
