Dress In Australia

Most Australians do not like to focus too much on formal wear.  They are not strong in 'pomp and ceremony'.  They prefer to do things in a more relaxed manner.  Australians never care about clothes, all they think about is comfort.  You could say this stems from the fact that the first European settlements in Australia were convict ed  colonies.  Because of this, Australians have always had less respect for authority than European countries, including Great Britain, where most of our first migrants came from.  This is not to say that Australians are never serious or formal, but, on balance, they are more relaxed in our approach to life.  Examples of Australian casual dress:  If it's a hot summer day, they are more comfortable wearing shorts, T-shirts, flip-flops, and hats.  On a hot summer day, it would be considered okay to go to a restaurant, go to the movies, go to the barbeque, go see your parents or grandparents, go shopping ...
